26 New Hunters Certified in CVCC On-Line Hunter Safety Course

All 26 students attending the April 28th Field Day at the CVCC successfully completed the training and testing to earn their WI DNR Hunter Safety Eductaion certification.  Students age 10 and up from as far away as Milwaukee and Waukesha spent the morning in the rain demonstrating firearm handling skills, tree stand safety, hunting technics inclucing blood trailing and shooting .22 rifles and 20 ga shotguns.  Warden Shawna Stringham talked to the students at noon and answered questions.  Students then completed the written and hands on practical tests.  The class average

2012 CVCC Sponsored WI DNR Hunter Safety Education Classes Scheduled

The Coon Valley Conservation Club is sponsoring their annual Wisconsin Basic Hunter Education course beginning in February. The course will be held each Thursday at the Coon Valley Village Hall from 3:45 PM to 6:00 PM beginning on February 2, 2012 ending on March 15, 2012. There will also be two Saturday morning classes at the Coon Valley Conservation Club on Mar. 3 and Mar. 17 from 9 AM to Noon. There is no minimum or maximum age. Parents are encouraged to enroll and participate.

2012 CVCC Hunter Safety Education Classes Scheduled

The 2012 WI DNR - CVCC Sponsored Hunter Safety Education classes have been scheduled.  The "regular" class will begin the first Thursday of February (Feb. 2) and will meet each Thursday from 3:45 - 6:00 PM through March 15th at the Coon Valley Village Hall.  There will also be Saturday morning sessions on Mar. 3 and 17 from 9:00 - Noon at the Clubgrounds.  Pre-registration is required and will begin after January 1 by contacting Royce Curtis at (608)452-3809.

On-Line Hunter Safety Field Day Certifies 21 New Hunters

The CVCC sponsored On-Line Hunter Safety Class met on Saturday, April 30 at the clubgrounds for the final Field Day of demonstrations, practice, and testing.  Students participated in firearm handling, tree stand safety, crossing obstacles, blood trailing, discussions of hunter responsibility and ethics, live firing of .22's and 20 guage shotguns, a Q & A session with area game wardens, and a final written and a practical test. 

43 New Hunters Certified in Annual DNR Hunter Safety Class

             The CVCC has certified our second largest class ever. All 43 students successfully passed the certification exams given Mar. 15 and 17 with an overall class average of 95%. Most were able to participate in the end of class .22 rifle competition on Sat. Mar.

Hunter Education

There will also be two Saturday morning classes at the Coon Valley Conservation Club on Mar. 6 and Mar. 20 from 9 AM to Noon. There is no minimum or maximum age. Parents and adults are encouraged to enroll and participate. A Parent or Guardian must attend the first class to complete and sign registration forms for those student under the age of 18. Advance registration is requested. Please contact Royce Curtis at 608-452-309 for details. The course fee is $10.00 and covers all necessary materials. Persons born on or after 1-1-73 must have a hunter education certificate to purchase any regular Wisconsin hunting license. (Persons 10 years or older can participate in the special Mentored Hunting Program without this certification. However, we encourage these hunters and their mentors to enroll in this course.)
