On-Line Hunter Safety Class Field Day

All day demonstration, practice and testing for students enrolled in our On-Line Hunter Safety Class.

The Coon Valley Conservation Club is sponsoring an Internet Based On-Line Wisconsin Basic Hunter Education course. Students enrolling in this class must complete all lessons and lesson quizzes using the International Hunter Education Association On-Line Course at www.ihea.com or complete the Wisconsin Hunter Safety course at www.huntercourse.com by Saturday, April 26, 2014. Students are required to attend the final Field Training and Testing day at the Coon Valley Conservation Club on Saturday, Apr. 26, 2014.

The course fee is $10.00 and covers all necessary materials. Students are also required to have a DNR Customer Number to complete registration forms. This number can be obtained by calling the WI DNR at 1-888-936-7463. Enrollment numbers are restricted with priority given to youth who will be turning 12 prior to the beginning of the upcoming hunting seasons. Enrollment begins on March 1st. Persons born on or after 1-1-73 must have a hunter education certificate to purchase any regular Wisconsin hunting license. Persons successfully completing the course will receive a basic hunter education graduate certificate and a distinctive embroidered emblem. Young students certified will be able to purchase a hunting license in any state, and hunt alone in Wisconsin (with parental permission) when they turn 14. The On-Line lessons cover topics such as hunting equipment and methods, rules and regulations, ethics, responsibility, first aid and survival, principles of wildlife management, and basic firearms knowledge and safety.
