"Stop the Bleed" Course - Nov. 16 @ CVCC - Additional Information

Stop the Bleed course.

The course was developed after a number of public shootings as a way to train the general population to help save lives should they be involved in a situation where medical help may not be able to get to the location quick enough to save a life. The course teaches two primary skills that someone can do to help in the case of uncontrolled bleeding where they are by themselves (hunting or working on a farm) or in a group situation. The skills are on the proper use of a tourniquet for extremities and how to treat severe bleeding in other areas that you cannot use a tourniquet (body trunk, neck or head). The course takes around an hour and includes a power point presentation and hands on skills. The CVCC has agreed to supply a tourniquet to each member that takes the course.
