43 New Hunters Certified in Annual DNR Hunter Safety Class

             The CVCC has certified our second largest class ever. All 43 students successfully passed the certification exams given Mar. 15 and 17 with an overall class average of 95%. Most were able to participate in the end of class .22 rifle competition on Sat. Mar. 19. This year’s Top Students were Alyssa Hoff and Owen Gluch with 100% test scores. The Top Shooters on Saturday were Samantha Oftedahl and Jonathan Hoff.   All received their Hunter Safety Certificates, Patches and a Blaze Orange CVCC Hunter Safety Hat.
            Volunteer instructors for the class were Roger Anderson, Al Haakenson, Charlie Nelson, Corky Roethel, Steve Pauloski, Lillian Primmer, and Royce Curtis. Also assisting was apprentice instructors Jay Sandman and Don Primmer plus youth instructor Hunter Pauloski.
            The CVCC On-Line Hunter Safety class is in progress with a full class of 30 students. All course work is being completed using the International Hunter Education on-line lessons. These students will complete the class on Apr. 30 with an all-day demonstration, practice and testing “Field Day” at the CVCC.
