2012 CVCC Sponsored WI DNR Hunter Safety Education Classes Scheduled

The Coon Valley Conservation Club is sponsoring their annual Wisconsin Basic Hunter Education course beginning in February. The course will be held each Thursday at the Coon Valley Village Hall from 3:45 PM to 6:00 PM beginning on February 2, 2012 ending on March 15, 2012. There will also be two Saturday morning classes at the Coon Valley Conservation Club on Mar. 3 and Mar. 17 from 9 AM to Noon. There is no minimum or maximum age. Parents are encouraged to enroll and participate. A Parent or Guardian must attend the first class to complete and sign registration forms for any student under the age of 18. Advance registration is reqired. Contact Royce Curtis at 608-452-309 to register. Enrollment in this class is limited and preference will be given to those youth attending the Westby Area Schools and their parents. Others will be admitted if space is available. The course fee is $10.00 and covers all necessary materials. A Wisconsin DNR Customer ID Number is also required and can be obtained by calling 1-888-936-7463. Persons born on or after 1-1-73 must have a hunter education certificate to purchase any regular Wisconsin hunting license. (Persons 10 years or older can participate in the special Mentored Hunting Program without this certification. However, we encourage these hunters and their mentors to enroll in this course.)

Note: An On-Line section of this class is available for those students who cannot attend the regular scheduled class. Enrollment numbers are restricted for this type of class. This is a “self-study Internet based” class with attendance at final Field Training and Testing day on April 28, 2012 required.
